Eamonn Holmes has taken a trip down memory lane, looking through and sharing pictures of his early days in broadcasting.

The presenter first graced our screens almost four decades ago working with Ulster Television, before going on to to front GMTV, Sky News and now This Morning.

Posting a picture from 1982, a young Mr Holmes can be seen on the set of Good Evening Ulster.

“21-year-old news anchor with a lot of hair,” he said alongside the pic. “Thank you to the viewer who sent me this. UTV didn’t store any live programming, so the only things that exist are on viewer’s VHS tapes.”

Sharing another headshot, he added, “The UTV press office has been in touch. I’m genuinely laughing out loud. Looks like if he was chocolate he’d eat himself.”

Fans and celebs alike couldn’t get over the snaps, and how handsome he looks.

RTE’s Nuala Carey said, “You’re like a fine wine, Eamonn.” While Matt Baker, presenter of The One Show, simply added, “That’s brilliant!”
