Eamonn Holmes has revealed that his brother was saved by CPR just days ago.
The TV presenter was doing a segment on This Morning on the subject when he revealed why it was so close to his heart at the moment.
Eamonn was speaking to a woman named Carol who had saved the life of her first aid trainer when he went into cardiac arrest during a class.
The Irishman presented Carol with a certificate and explained why the subject was so close to home.
He said: “This is particularly poignant to me, because just three days ago, on Sunday morning my own baby brother had to be revived by an ambulance team.
“So thank you to that ambulance team who carried out CPR on him.”
Eamonn has four brothers and did not reveal which sibling had health issues, but was clearly grateful that his life was saved by paramedics.
The host previously revealed to the Guardian the he and his siblings were very close.
“Growing up, the lack of space meant we were like bear cubs or dogs that were always biting and nipping at each other, but not now.
“Today they are my best friends and that’s the same for all of us; we love each other’s company, we love being with each other, we indulge heavily in, what they call in Belfast, the banter or the craic.”
