Following major surgery to replace two hips last week, Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he’s “going through hell.”
The ITV presenter phoned his This Morning pals, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to tell them how he’s getting on today.
“I am going through hell,” he said. “No, the truth is, i think anyone would rather not be going through what I am, but to anyone who is facing this operation, I want to say that the people here really do know what they are going and the technology is so advanced.
“Yes, it is going to hurt a bit, but this pain doesn’t compare to what I was going through before. At the moment, everything is difficult, from charging my phone to brushing my teeth. It’s all just such an effort. Your head also becomes really foggy. But the health professionals know what they are doing.
“I’m in day four post operation, and the truth is, this will get worse before it gets better. But the difference between this pain and the pain I was in before, is that this will get better.”
Eamonn also took to Twitter to share a picture of him hobbling around on his crutches, and said, “On my feet… Sort of. I can only put the expression down to a mixture of drugs, pain and that late Chelsea goal.”
His wife and fellow presenter, Ruth Langsford replied to his tweet, saying, “Baby steps darling… Baby steps. So proud of you. I won’t even complain if you swear! xx”
Here’s hoping it’ll be a speedy recovery.
