Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford ‘blindsided’ by ITV shake up

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have been replaced on This Morning, after 14 years presenting.

The couple have been presenting on the popular morning show since 2006, filling in the Friday slot as well as the six weeks when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take their holidays.

Reports have claimed that Ruth and Eamonn have been totally blindsided by this news despite  rumours of an ITV shake-up.

Sources have said that they are “furious and upset” by the news as only last week Ruth was published in New! Magazine as saying she wasn’t worried by the shake-up.

“I think I am very good at what I do, and as long as they want me I’ll be there,” she said.

“I’ve been doing it a very long time and it seems we’ve been very popular, so I presume all those things will be taken into consideration.”

It seems that now that pair have lost their Friday slot and will only be filling in over the summer weeks. The couple will be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on Friday’s instead.

According to the Irish Sun, a source revealed that: “Eamonn is pretty furious and everyone feels for him and Ruth, they are well liked on the team, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made.”

Eamonn and Ruth are yet to publicly address this news.
