Eamon Dunphy has opened up about the death of his friend Bill O’Herily, revealing that he’s still struggling to deal with his passing.
Bill passed away very suddenly last year at the age of 76, just hours after attending the IFTA’s.
Speaking to The Sun, Eamon said, “He was a pleasant man, and he was a curious man. He’d always have a bit of gossip, he’d always want to know a bit of gossip.
“I do miss him greatly and was badly affected – really, really badly affected.
“I was deeply shocked. He’d been at the IFTA’s. He was in great form, I understand. There was no inkling that anything was wrong with him.
“Bill was a man of immense passion, humour, knowledge and fun. He was always happy when he was working. He loved being on air.”
Brand new RTE series Cloch Le Carn celebrates the life of the late Irish broadcaster, and airs tonight on RTE One at 7.30pm.
