The Dancing with the Stars semi-final has come and gone, and what a show it was!
Yes, from the celebrity’s individual dances to a spooky danceathon and sensational performance from last season’s runner-up, Brooke Scullion, tonight’s show had it all.
But sadly we had to wave goodbye to another one of our lovely contestants.
Before the public vote, Blu Hydrangea and Simone Arena were at the top of the leaderboard while Davy Russell and Kylee Vincent were at the bottom.
However, it was Laura Fox who judge Brian Redmond thought could be in danger after her performance tonight, adding: “I just thought she threw a few gaps here and there between them. She’s fantastic, but the semi-final standard is so high so I’d just be a little bit scared.”
But as we all know things can change quite quickly on this show…
After receiving the lowest combined points from the judges and public vote it meant that Davy Russell and David Whelan would have to face the dreaded dance-off.
Despite receiving 30 points from the judges, David and his dance partner Salome Chachua gave it their all as they took to the dancefloor once more in the hopes of gaining a spot in the final.
While Davy and his partner Kylee Vincent delivered a thoughtful performance once again as they danced a gothic Viennese Waltz to Never Tear Us Apart by INXS.
However, it was sadly time for Davy’s Dancing with the Stars journey to end after he lost out to David at the dance-off.
Speaking about his time on the show, Davy said: “It’s been outrageous. I have to thank my wife. She had her hands full, and all the lads at home on the farm and the kids.”
“Look it’s just been fantastic, what can I say and credit to Kylee.”
