The Dancing with the Stars Quarterfinal is here!
With no one wanting to leave the competition, the pressure was fierce for our remaining celebrity couples.
The celebrities had their hands full between their solo and team dance, but who will have done enough to earn a space in this year’s semi-final?
Here’s how they all got on…
Jason Smyth and Karen Byrne
Jason and Karen had the crowd on their feet when they danced the jive to Runaway by OneRepublic.
“Great steps, with the kicks and the flips,” shared judge Loraine Barry.
While Arthur Gourounlian added: “That was fun, that was fire. You gave the performance I knew you had in you!”
They scored a total of 23 points.
Laura Fox and Denys Samson
Laura and Denys had all three judges on their feet when they performed the Charleston to Do Your Thing by Basement Jaxx.
“Strawberries and cream, fish and chips, cabbage and bacon, somethings just go together and Laura Fox and the Charleston are another perfect combination,” noted Brian.
“I just see this as a box office success,” added Loraine Barry.
They were awarded with 30 points after receiving 10 points from each of the judges.
Blu Hydrangea and Simone Arena
Off the back of earning the first perfect score of the season, Blu and Simone danced the quickstep to Beyoncé’s current number one single, Texas Hold ‘Em.
“It takes real talent to cross genres and Beyoncé did it beautifully and you know what, so have you Blu with that quickstep,” shared Brian.
“It was flawless from start to finish,” gushed Arthur. “You took us all to Dollywood tonight!”
They also received an impressive 30 points.
Davy Russell and Kylee Vincent
Davy and Kylee danced the cha-cha-cha to the Michael Bublé and Jason DeRulo hit, Spicy Margarita.
“Now I have to say, the legs were a little bit stiff, it wasn’t quite fluid but I know you gave it your all and the good thing is you kept the beat going,” admitted Loraine.
Arthur however, disagreed, adding: “Davy, honestly, there’s no stopping you! Listen you had the cha-cha-cha moment we needed and tonight with those moves you definitely captivated me.”
They scored a solid 21 points.
David Whelan and Salome Chachua
David and Salome wowed the judges by dancing the paso doble to the Led Zeppelin classic, Whole Lotta Love.
“A great male paso double has to be able to do one thing, combine the masculine with the feminine. And you did that immaculately,” shared Brian.
While Loraine noted: “I would just like a moment, a breath just to expand and leave us waiting for a second more and then hit us together.”
They received 28 points after Arthur awarded them the big 10.
Katja Mia and Ervinas Merfeldas
Following their win in last week’s dance-off, Katja and Ervinas danced the salsa to Mandinda’s tropical version of Dua Lipa’s, Levitating.
“Last week you were in the dance-off and the only way to come back is to come out fighting and that’s exactly what you did,” shared Brian. “You make difficult things look easy, you have such naturalism to the things you do.”
While Arthur said: “You and the salsa are like two peas in a pod because you just gel so well together. The way you move your body is absolutely amazing.”
Their performance earned them a total of 28 points, receiving yet another 10 from Arthur.
