Eurovision week is finally upon us!

Yes, Friday night, Norwegian singer EMMY was crowned champion on the Late Late Show Eurosong Special with her track Laika Party, meaning she will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland this May.

So, in honour of our Eurovision entry being chosen, it only seemed right to continue the hype with our celebrity contestants this week with all nine couples dancing to some of the greatest hits the Eurovision has ever produced.

However, the pressure is on more than ever as the two couples with the lowest combined points from the judges and public will go head to head in the first dance-off of the season.

Here’s how everyone got on…

Head Judge Loraine Barry could feel the fun, noting: “It was all there, but perhaps a little bit of tidying up could have been done but what a start to the night.”

While Brian Redmond agreed, adding: “There were definitely some parts of the Jive that I did enjoy, it just maybe needed a little more bounce to bring more lightness to it.”

Karen, Loraine and Arthur all gave her six points with Brian giving a five resulting in 23 points overall.

“You were so in tune with the music, with each other as well. That’s exactly what we want to see,” explained Loraine.

However, Brian wasnt entirely convinced, noting: “It was maybe just a little bit too much for you in certain ways, in terms of energy. A bit mixed for me.”

Overall, Aishah was awarded a seven from Brian and Arthur, followed by an eight from Karen and Loraine resulting in 30 points.

But who will make it through to next week and who will face the dance-off?
