We guess This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things…

Taylor Swift announced two Dublin dates for her highly anticipated Eras Tour yesterday – June 28th and 29th 2024.

As a result Dublin hotels have decided to push their prices for the particular June weekend up to astronomical prices with one even quoting as high as €1000.

Several have adjusted their prices to be 100’s of euros more expensive than usual due to high demand expected as a direct result of the concert which will take place in Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

The increase in price happened just hours following Taylor’s gig announcement, which many have deemed as nothing short of ‘price gouging’.

The Department of Tourism has condemned the hotels for their move saying they are damaging the reputation of Irish hotels and also causing “damage to Ireland’s reputation globally for offering value for money”.

The UK and European legs of the tour are set to start on May 9th 2024 in Paris, France and will conclude in London on August 24th 2024.

Ticket prices have not yet been released but due to expected demand fans much register for their selected ticket sale. Not everyone who registers will be allocated a code to access the sale but this measure has been introduced in an effort to eliminate bots and ticket scalpers buying and reselling tickets and getting as many fans as possible inside the stadium on show day.
