Chef Donal Skehan has shared a very sweet moment with his followers – his son saying ‘papa’ for the first time.
As Donal was whipping up a meal for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on BBC’s This Morning, he sadly missed the moment but his wife Sofie caught the whole thing on camera.
When little Oliver saw his dad cooking on the TV, it was then he decided to speak his first word, ‘papa’.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, Donal wrote: “FIRST WORDS! Ollie said Papa for the first time today!
“Except I wasn’t at home, he was watching me on @thismorning with Holly and Phil! What a little dude- all going so quick!”

He continued, “I cooked up this Spicy Pantry Pasta up in my slot, thanks for having me @hollywilloughby & schofe – Miss hanging out with you guys in real life! Its a really impressive pasta dinner that you more than likely have the ingredients for hanging out in your kitchen cupboards already! Link to recipe in my bio and stories!”
Fans and followers were quick to flood the comment section with kind words, one writing, “They pick up things so quick adorable boy”, while another commented, “This is absolutely precious.”
This comes after Donal recently opened up about parenthood to VIP, saying “Honestly, becoming a parent has been the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve done.
“Every day has challenges and incredible moments and it’s hard to keep your cool every day. We try to focus on good behaviour instead of always saying no, or pointing out the wrong in a situation, but sometimes you absolutely have to put your foot down.
“I notice the more time I have to spend with them we’re all in better form, so I try to put work aside for the two to three hours before bedtime and so far it’s been working well.”
