Dominique Nugent has shared an honest update on her IVF journey, following her recent egg retrieval procedure.
Earlier this week, she posted a video documenting her first egg retrieval, revealing that 16 eggs had been extracted.
“We’ll find out tomorrow how many have fertilised, and then it’s another 5–6 days to see how many make it to the blastocyst stage,” she wrote.
Speaking on Instagram yesterday, Dominique shared that she had received a call with an update.

“They said out of the 16 eggs that they got yesterday, 15 were mature, and out of those, 11 were fertilised.
“So we have to wait until Tuesday to see how many of those made it to the blastocyst stage.”
Once that stage is reached, the embryos will be sent out for testing — a process that can take between four to six weeks.
Previously opening up about the process, Dominique shared that since they’re undergoing PGT testing on the embryos, she and her partner have decided to take a short break over the next few months for some rest and relaxation, including a holiday with family.

Further reflecting on the experience, Dominique admitted that the waiting and uncertainty can be “anxiety-inducing,” especially knowing how much the numbers can drop.
“But as loads of people said to me online, it does only take one, so hopefully we get that.”
She also explained that she was still in pain following the procedure and feeling quite bloated, before revealing that she had more injections to start that evening.
“So hopefully everything goes according to plan,” she finally noted before signing off.
