Doireann Garrihy has urged her followers to beware of a social media profile impersonating her.
The radio presenter shared the page, which is direct copy of her public Facebook account.
The page is offering a number of competitions, but she has begged people not to interact with it.
Sharing her annoyance over the catfish scam, she said, “My public Facebook page has been cloned! Just in case it does anything weird, it’s not me.”
Earlier this month Doireann also opened up about a WhatsApp thread that went viral in 2018 surrounding rumours of her love life and asked people not to believe everything they hear or see online.
Speaking to Dara Quilty on his podcast Dara Quilty’s Different, she said, “It was just this fabricated shite… the facts were so mad. It was just beyond, but it was so fabricated that I actually didn’t worry because it was so stupid.
“It was the fact that I was suffering the consequences of something I hadn’t done was actually the worst thing ever.”
Thankfully it all blew over fairly quickly for the popular presenter, as she said, “It has gone away since and I knew it would.
“I had always learned, even from my sister Aoibhin, if something like that happens it is always going to be old news in a couple of days and thank god it was.”
