Doireann Garrihy has cautioned followers to be vigilant of a dangerous social media account impersonating her.
Taking to Instagram, the comedian warned of a fake Facebook account pretending to be her, which was reaching out to followers offering money.
Asking fans to be careful, Doireann wrote: “There is a Facebook page pretending to be me doing a money give away – please ignore and report if you see it. Thank you.”
The scary incident follows an otherwise fantastic week for Doireann as she celebrated four years of her fabulous podcast The Laughs of Your Life.
Taking to her Instagram, the comedian shared her story from four years ago when she announced the news that she had a brand new podcast coming.
She said: “4 years since announcing Laughs of Your Life… Had no idea where it would take me but so glad I took the leap”.
Doireann’s first guest four years ago on the long awaited podcast was none other than Ian Dempsey who chatted about having tea with chimpanzees, beers with Bruce Springsteen, and saying farewell to his good friend Tony Fenton
The Laughs of Your Life is a podcast that digs into the beauty behind having a laugh, sharing a laugh and causing others to laugh.
Speaking to a wide variety of Irish guests Doireann asks each person different instances where they’ve laughed, like their first memories of laughter to being laughed at to “if I didn’t laugh I’d cry” moments, they’re truly the moments that make the podcast making the audience feel every emotion along with them.
The podcast has been incredibly successful so far interviewing some of Ireland’s most influential people like Greg O’Shea, Louis Walsh and Niall Quinn to name a few. We’ve no doubt Doireann has many more great Irish people to interview up her sleeve. We look forward to seeing who she has jump in the hot seat next.
The Laughs of Your Life is available on Spotify and Apple Music and anywhere else you listen to your podcasts.
