Doireann Garrihy has bid farewell to her role on 2FM once again as she prepares to welcome her first child with her husband, Mark Mehigan.
The Drivetime presenter signed off for the last time on Thursday, thanking her co-hosts Hugh Carr and Taran O’Sullivan, as well as the producers and listeners, for their support.
“That’s a wrap on #2FMDRIVE,” Doireann shared to Instagram alongside a photo of her in the studio.
“Thank you so much for joining me every weekday since February. It’s been an absolute joy to be back on the mic, I have loved every second.

“Thank you to the team, you know who you are. Mic is down, feet are officially UP.”
So, with Doireann gone, the question on everyone’s mind is: who will be her replacement?
Well, it’s now been confirmed that 2FM weekend presenters Demi Isaac and Mikey O’Reilly will take over the station’s weekday drivetime slot.
Yes, the duo will begin hosting 2FM’s 3pm – 6pm show from today.

Demi and Mikey first joined 2FM earlier this year as part of the expressions of interest recruitment process and have been presenting the 12 – 3pm slot on weekends since March.
Speaking about her new gig, Demi said: “It’s such a buzz to be stepping in for Doireann Garrihy! We’ve got big shoes to fill while Doireann’s away but we’re excited to give it our best shot and keep things ticking along until she’s back!
“Honestly, my bestie Mikey and I have become inseparable – every time we’re on air together it feels like we’re just having the chats with all of you.”
Awh! Best of luck guys!
