Funnyman Des Bishop has opened up about the cancellation of his ‘idyllic wedding this summer.
Des recently announced his engagement to American reality TV star Hannah Berner and since then the two have been busy making wedding plans. The couple was hoping to tie the knot this summer, but their dreams were slashed when their perfect venue canceled on them.
Speaking openly on his podcast ‘Des Bishop’ he revealed that their big day is now sadly up in the air as a result of losing their venue.
“Hannah was quite public about it (the wedding) but the funny thing is that, so we got very quickly into let’s do it this summer”
“(We’ll do it) During the pandemic, it’ll keep the numbers down and she had access to an idyllic venue”
“This venue was f****** perfect the first time I saw it which was well before I had been engaged, which was on a walk. She told me she had a connection to this place and I said ‘that would be an amazing place for a wedding’”
Going on to explain what happened with their venue and how they have now decided to postpone the wedding indefinitely, Des continued:
“We had access to it, however it was pulled from us, literally just the other day and as a result of the simplicity of having access to that venue, we have now pulled away from trying to do it this summer”
Revealing that Fiance Hannah has chosen her wedding dress, Des says that losing their venue has forced them to slow down and enjoy the moment, making the most of their time engaged.
“But we were actually honestly full steam ahead. She has her wedding dress already”
“I’m very anti the wedding industry. Like I think the whole thing is a f***** scam… The charges are humongous”
“So it was all very full steam ahead and I was totally with it but now that that fell through, I’m also totally with taking a breather and having a great time because what was great about that was, even though there would’ve been some planning.
“I think we would’ve had to have a tent and all that, it still just felt like less pressure because you’re not tied into that some wedding venue but at the same time now that it is gone, I’m very fine with that too”
