Following the roaring success of Channel 4 show Derry Girls, the comedy has just been nominated for a BAFTA award.
The series was given the nod in the category of ‘Best Scripted Comedy’, and is up against Mum, Sally4ever and Strath Lets Flats.
Sharing her delight, the show’s creator Lisa McGee simply posted the announcement with the caption, ‘yay’.
Stars of the show, Nicola Coughlan and Saoirse Monica Jackson were also thrilled to wake up to the news, taking to social media to reveal their joy.
Nicola wrote, “Aaaaaaaa! We only went and got nominated for a BAFTA didn’t we?”
Saoirse Monica Jackson went on to say that it’s been a ‘good morning”.
In its second season, the show has attracted a massive following – including some big names in the showbiz world, such as Gary Barlow.
Last week saw the girls gear up to see their favourite band Take That perform in concert.
Of course, in true Derry Girl fashion, things don’t exactly go as planned and Erin and co. very nearly miss the concert.
Fans loved the latest episode and as usual twitter was alight with comments about the show.
Take That themselves even reacted on Twitter.
