Miriam O’Callaghan and her husband are taking a trip down memory lane and revisiting the place where they first met, in celebration of their 20 year anniversary.
The Prime Time presenter met other half Steve Carson when the pair were working together on an RTE show at Stokestown House in Roscommon.
Now, the romantic pair will go back to visit the place where they first fell in love. “We came back a few years ago and since it’s 20 years this month we will come back to visit together,” the tv star said.
Speaking about crossing paths for the first time with her future husband, Miriam explained that they had been hired to work on a famine film together.
“My producer called me up and said they were doing a film on the famine and would I do it….she also said to me that they had a new producer on board, a guy from Belfast called Steve Carson.”
Their encounter couldn’t have come at a better time as the broadcaster had just lost her sister and was also recovering from the breakdown of her marriage.
It was immediately clear to the broadcaster that she had a soft spot for her new colleague. ” I really liked him straight away,” she told the RTE Guide. “I loved working with him.”
Speaking to VIP this time last year in a fabulous exclusive photoshoot, Miriam said her and Steve are still loved up as ever.
“We text all the time! He texted me this morning to say: “I love you.” And I texted him back: “I love you too.” I’m sure lots of people think – eurgh! But, I always believe in telling people I love them. What’s the point in doing it when they’re dead!?” she said.
She added, referring to the breakdown of her first marriage with Tom McGurk: “I just feel so happy and lucky to have found love again. And I think maybe you cherish it a bit more and never want to lose it.”
