Dawn O’Porter has shared her heartache, as she marks the first anniversary of Caroline Flack’s passing.
The presenter died suddenly in February 2020 at the age of 40 and Caroline’s death came as a shock to everyone who knew her.
Dawn admits she’s still struggling to come to terms with the loss, and the grief can be overwhelming at times.
“I keep trying to write about Caroline and how I feel but i just can’t find the words at the moment. A year later, and it’s still as raw,” she said.
“It’s good to talk about grief because no matter how alone it makes you feel, you are actually surrounded by a lot of people who have felt it too. If you dare to open up, it does help.”
Sharing a beautiful picture of her best friend, she added, “I miss you my love.”
In her latest book, Life in Pieces, Dawn says that although Caroline is no longer with her physically, she feels her spirit around her all the time, which brings her some comfort.
“I feel her in everything. More than I have any other person I have lost. I feel like she is watching out for me in so many ways, and also just watching me, which I love,” she said.
“Caroline has been throwing signs at me like fireballs and I’ve been catching them all and clinging on tight.”
