Daniel O’Donnell has spoken out against ticket touting websites. The Donegal native is livid that tickets for U2’s Dublin gig appeared on reselling websites for up to four times the original price.
As a fellow artist Daniel can relate to U2, and said that no musician wants to see this happen, because it leaves fans disappointed.
Speaking to the Irish Sun the 55-year-old said, “I don’t think any artist likes that to happen, you know, that real fans are prevented from getting seats and touts just charge astronomical prices.
“But I don’t know how they do that. I don’t know if all places do, but certainly we, the sales people, had a policy that you could only get so many seats.”
Daniel, who is currently on tour in Australia, also spoke about his joy that country music is becoming popular again, and that the entire genre has been given a revamp thanks to singers such as Nathan Carter.
“It’s a fantastic thing to see all the young people that are singing country music now.
“It’s really revitalised the whole business. It has brought a whole new group of people to the music,” he said.
