It was recently announced by a spokesperson for Daniel Day Lewis that he is retiring from acting, however, it didn’t say he was retiring completely.
The talented Irishman is reportedly set to take a very different career path, if the reports are to be believed.
The 60-year-old is reportedly looking into the creative field of dressmaking.
It is unsurprisingly inspired by the actor’s latest role in the untitled Paul Thomas Anderson film, in which he plays a dressmaker in London commissioned to design for members of high society and the royal family.
The New York Post reports that in typical Day Lewis style, he did such intense research and learned so much about couture fashion that he will stick with the profession off-screen and become a dressmaker.
It wouldn’t be the most surprising move, given that in the 90’s he did an apprenticeship with shoemaker Stefano Bemer in Florence, Italy.
