Daithi O’Se shares heartfelt well-wishes with Sinead Kennedy as she prepares to welcome first child to the world

Daithi O’Se has wished his colleague Sinead Kennedy the best of luck as she begins an exciting new chapter in her life, as a mum.

Sinead is expecting her first child with husband Conor Kirwan later this month, and officially began her maternity leave from RTE’s Today Show this week.

Before departing the set, her co-host Daithi took a moment to share some lovely words with his colleague.

“From everyone on the show we wish you all the best with the baby. We’re going to miss you so much,” he began.

“You came here last September Sinead and have brightened up our Mondays and Tuesdays to no end. We just love you so much here.”

Speaking from his own experience, he continued, “As a dad, when Micheal came along, there’s an extra gear of love inside you that you don’t know you have yet – but when the baby looks up at you and you look back at the baby, there’s nothing nicer in this world.”

Sinead also revealed she’ll miss working with Daithi and can’t wait for their reunion later this year.

“What a really great few months it’s been. I’ve had a ball working alongside you,” she said.

“We literally laughed our way through each day, it was a pure joy to work with you Mr, I honestly loved every minute! I’ll be looking forward to getting back on air with you in a few months time for more of the same madness!”

While Sinead is off adjusting to life as a new mum, Blathnaid Treacy will be taking over her slot.

The broadcaster is no stranger to the show, already making regular appearances for entertainment and fashion news, and will join Daithi O’Se each Monday and Tuesday, while Maura Derrane continues to host every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the show. It’s such a great programme, a staple of Irish television for so many years with Maura, Dáithí and Sinéad,” she beamed.

“I want to wish my good friend Sinéad the very best of luck on her maternity leave. She’s left behind some stylish shoes to fill.”
