Fair City reached new levels of cringe last night, when a quiet evening at the Valentine restaurant turned into a singsong proposal.
Deco Bishop and Kerri-Anne O’Driscoll, two of the shows regulars, were in the middle of a romantic dinner, however things didn’t go to plan for the couple.
Deco had finally built up the courage to pop the question, only to be interrupted by a man proposing to his boyfriend by serenading him with hit song ‘We all need somebody to lean on.’
Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the marriage referendum in Ireland, and Fair City gave a lovely nod to the occasion – even if the flash mob was a little embarrassing.
The memorable episode had Fair City trending on Twitter last night and there were some mixed reactions.
Jenny Dixon, who plays Kerry Ann tweeted and adorable snap of her and her on screen love saying “So.. #FairCity is Trending on Twitter! That happened! @PipShort1 director & all FairCity family! So much love!”
