Irish country music star Big Tom has died at the age of 81.
The legendary singer passed away surrounded by his family.
In a statement, his family said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Big Tom McBride (RIP) this morning.
“Dad passed away peacefully in the company of his family.
“He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
“May he rest in peace.”
Some of Tom’s hits from his 50-year career include The same way you came in and If It’s lonesome at your table.
Tributes came in from friends and family following the news.
Daniel O’Donnell paid his respects saying: “The memories that he has left us will never fade.”
