Saoirse Ronan has revealed that she’s lost her voice during her 20 week stint on broadway.
The Carlow native is currently starring in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible in New York, which now appears to be taking it’s toll on her voice.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Saoirse revealed, “My voice is gone. I sound like Tom Waits right now. I basically sound like Tom Waits all the time onstage.”
The Brooklyn star also admitted on the morning programme that there is a big difference between acting in films and doing theatre work.
She said that it takes a lot more stamina and it was all new for her.
“It is different with theatre, it does need to be more physical.
“The stamina that you need to keep that up every single day, six days a week is much greater.”
Saoirse depicts the role of Abigail in the revival play, which is about the Salem witch trials of the 17th century.
We wish her a speedy recovery!
