Hozier can now add another award to his ever growing collection, as the Bray native has just been named as the VH1 Artist of the Year at the Big Music in 2015: You Oughta Know gig in New York.
During his speech, he said, “Thank you so much to the fans who were obviously voting. They surprise me and they overwhelm me every day.”
It’s been a big couple of weeks for the Irish singer, as besides winning awards around the globe, it has also been revealed that he’ll be lending his voice to Today FM’s charity album.
The album, ‘Whole Lotta Live’ will be released in memory of Tony Fenton, and all proceeds will go to the Irish Cancer Society.
A whole range of artists are lending their voice to the album, including The Coronas, Paolo Nutini, Kodaline, Ellie Goulding and The National.
For his track on the album, which goes on sale on November 27th, Hozier chose to cover ‘Whole Lotta Love’.
