Cillian Murphy recently made the move back to Ireland with his family, after living in London for 14 years. The Cork born actor is now living in Monkstown with his wife Yvonne McGuiness, and two children, Malachy and Aran.
Originally it was Cillian who had reservations about moving back to the Emerald Isle, but when the time came it was actually his sons who needed persuading.
The Peaky Blinders star resorted to bribery, and promised his kids that they could get a dog when they made the move to Dublin.
Speaking to the Observer magazine he said, “Initially, I was the reluctant one when it came to moving back, but I was quickly convinced. Irish people are brilliant and you have to go away and come back to realise it.
“To move away in your twenties to England or America to establish yourself and find your calling, and then come home… I always thought that it was retrogressive, but now I realise that it is just natural.
“We promised (the kids) a dog, so that was fine. I am the only one that walks it, of course.”
