Ciara Doherty has revealed she’d love to front her own tv show if the opportunity ever came about.
The Donegal native currently hosts Ireland AM weekday mornings with Alan Hughes and Karen Koster, and while she adores it, wouldn’t rule out the chance to do something different.
Speaking to the RTE Guide she said, “I would love my own show, something in current or social affairs, whether it will materialise or not that’s another thing.
“In saying that, I’m genuinely very happy on Ireland AM; it’s home for me now, I love the programme and I’ve a great relationship with the presenters on it. I’m always looking to do more, expand my horizons and challenge myself a bit.”
She revealed she was inspired by a recent show about Cork woman Samantha Barry, Editor-in-Chief of US Glamour Magazine, and how she always goes after the specific roles she wants.
“I watched that brilliant documentary on Samantha Barry recently and one of the things she said was that she had never gone for a job that didn’t scare her and that really stuck with me,” she said.
“I think it’s a good thing to be somewhat scared at work and I’m going to try and approach the rest of my career like that. Otherwise you get complacent or laid back, so that’s my new approach for 2020 onwards.”
Earlier this week, Ciara Doherty wowed Ireland AM viewers as she debuted a gorgeous new ‘do on the morning show.
The presenter decided to change up her look after months in lockdown, and opted for a bold fringe.
“Love the fringe Ciara, suits you,” said one follower. Another added, “Hair is gorgeous!”
We love the look!
