Ciara Doherty, who welcomed her first child with husband Richard Stern in February 2019 talks about the struggles with sleep between parenting and returning to Ireland AM.
Thanking her husband for his support she told Evoke.ie, “…My husband does the bulk of the overnights because he has worked on Ireland AM in the past…
“You see he was a producer on it and he just appreciates that you couldn’t have a broken night of sleep and go in and be on air for four hours on a programme as demanding as Ireland AM… he does all of the overnights.
“He’s the one who said to me it’s simply not possible to do both on a programme like Ireland AM.”
Ciara admitted the sleep was a “challenge” but said it has become normal to her now.
The Ireland AM host spoke of the fun she is having on set despite the broken sleep schedule; “I have to say myself and Karen and Alan have just really clicked and there is a good positive atmosphere on set which is essential when you’re on air for four hours.”
Her Ireland AM co-host Glenda Gilson is competing in this seasons Dancing With The Stars, Ciara said she was nervous for her but supporting her 100%. We are sure the whole Ireland AM team are tuning in to see Glenda’s danceability each week.
