It looks like all the big stars are in Ireland this week!

Yes, Cate Blanchett is the latest celebrity to be spotted on our Emerald Isle as she was seen filming her new movie.

The double Oscar winner looked almost unrecognisable as she was photographed wearing a wig and glasses.

Cate was snapped in action as her character talked on a mobile phone in a 1997 registered metallic blue Toyota Corolla parked in Stoneybatter Dublin’s north inner city.

The film she is shooting is believed to be called Father, Mother, Sister, Brother.

Directed by legendary American indie film-maker Jim Jarmusch, scenes have already been shot in New Jersey, with the cast and crew set to move to Paris soon after they have wrapped up filming here.

Little has emerged about her latest project, but Jim previously did describe it as “a funny and sad film”.

Cate last worked with the film-maker in the 2003 anthology, Coffee & Cigarettes, in which she had dual roles (including one as herself).

This is believed to be the first time in 22 years the Australian has been seen filming in Ireland, having then shot Veronica Guerin here.

The movie about the murdered Sunday Independent journalist also starred Ciaran Hinds, Brenda Fricker and a young Colin Farrell.

Most recently, Cate wrapped filming in Hungary for the film Rumors, which also stars among other Charles Dance and Alicia Vikander.

The story follows the leaders of the seven nations comprising G7 who meet for their annual summit but get lost in the woods and must still draft up a statement addressing a worldwide crisis.

We’re hooked already!
