Carl Mullan joins the Rose of Tralee with an exciting brand-new role

Carl Mullan had some exciting news to share with listeners of his radio show this morning.

Speaking on 2FM Breakfast with Carl, Roz & Aisling on Friday morning, the RTÉ star announced that he would be taking up the role of Master of Ceremonies at the 2025 Rose of Tralee Festival.

How exciting!

Teasing the news, Carl revealed: “I do have a new gig. I am leaving yis… for three days next week.

“Do they need you for four?” Roz joked.

To which Carl responded: “I am absolutely buzzing to let everyone know that I am the new Master of Ceremonies at the Rose of Tralee International Festival!”

Now, you may be asking what exactly does a Master of Ceremonies do?

Well, Carl will simply introduce all 32 roses to the stage across both nights.

When Roz asked if the role is similar to that of an MC, Carl confirmed, adding: “The voiceover guy.

“I’m just going to keep it to Master of Ceremonies, if ya don’t mind. Maybe if you see me on the street go, ‘There’s the Master of Ceremonies for the Rose of Tralee!’

Joining Carl for the festivities will be James Patrice as the official Rose Reporter.

While both Dáithí O Sé and Kathryn Thomas will be back on hosting duties.
