The official trailer for the final season of Outlander has finally dropped, and spoiler alert, it’s an emotional one.
After eight incredible seasons, the hit time-travelling series is gearing up for an epic conclusion, with the countdown officially on to its March finale.
The trailer teases both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments for the Fraser family, with several familiar faces returning as the story draws to a close.
Fans can expect reunions, reckonings and no shortage of emotion as the series prepares to say goodbye after more than a decade on screen.
The ever-talented Caitríona Balfe returns as the fiercely resilient Claire Fraser, alongside Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, with Sophie Skelton (Brianna), Richard Rankin (Roger), John Bell (Young Ian), David Berry (Lord John Grey), Charles Vandervaart (William Ransom) and Izzy Meikle-Small (Rachel Murray) rounding out the ensemble.
Speaking previously to The Hollywood Reporter about the dramatic season seven finale, Caitríona and Sam admitted the cliffhanger came as a shock, not just for viewers, but for the actors themselves, setting the stage for a deeply emotional final chapter.
Going forward, season eight picks up with the Frasers facing their greatest test yet.
A haunting prophecy predicting Jamie’s death casts a shadow over the family, forcing Claire and Jamie to confront whether fate can truly be changed.
With the war now at their doorstep and Fraser’s Ridge under threat, the couple must decide what they’re willing to sacrifice for their home, their family and, ultimately, each other.
While this marks the end of Outlander as fans know it, the story won’t end entirely.
The franchise will continue with prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which has already been renewed for a second season.
The final season of Outlander premieres on March 6, with new episodes airing weekly.
