Caitriona Balfe has opened up about what fans can expect from Outlander season 5, which is scheduled to return to our screens in February 2020.
The Dublin-born actress has played time-traveller Claire Fraser since the series debut in 2014 and co-stars alongside Scottish actor, Sam Heughan.
Series 4 of the historical drama ended with Claire and Jamie’s pregnant daughter, Brianna, reuniting with her lover Roger.
Now that the Fraser’s have adjusted to life in Colonial America, they must gear up for the next challenge coming their way: the American Revolution.
On the subject of season 5, Caitriona told Elle: “The war is going to put Claire and Jamie is a very precarious position, so how are they going to deal with that, and how is that going to impact their family? We’ve got a lot of interesting stuff coming up.”
Meanwhile, the Irishwoman recently married long-term love Tony McGill in a romantic English ceremony.
Caitriona and her music mogul beau had been quietly dating since 2016 before tying the knot in August of this year, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
