Bryan Cranston has opened up about his love of Ireland, in particular his fondness of Irish pubs and sessions!
The Breaking Bad actor, whose grandmother hails from Co.Clare, visited our Emerald Isle a few years ago while exploring his Irish heritage.
“Typical Americans of course, we hadn’t a clue where places were. We thought she had come from Cork because that starts with a C.” he told the Irish Sun.
Bryan admitted that one of the most memorable parts of the trip was his first Irish pub session.
“We had a fantastic time, especially in Doolin when we slipped into McConnell’s pub to escape a drizzly afternoon.” he said.
“I was sitting there with a bowl of Irish stew and a pint of Guinness, when a music session started. There was a baby crawling around the floor of the pub, after his father went up to play.
“The baby crawled up my leg and sat on my lap while the session went on. When he finished playing his father came over and picked him up.
“What I loved was how calm and relaxed the whole thing was. We had a lovely, easy-going time.”
Here’s hoping that Bryan returns to Ireland for another session very soon!
