Brian Dowling was clearly delighted yesterday hearing the news that his husband, Arthur had touched down in Dublin Airport. Posting to Instagram he said; “I can confirm the eagle has landed.”
Arthur had been living in LA for the past two years, travelling back and forth to see Brian. However, due to the current Covid-19 crisis he made the decision to come home, along with close friends Donal and Sofie Skehan.
“My baby @gourounlian is here in Ireland at long last. It’s taken weeks to get him here. With packing up our home in LA & some canceled flights but he’s made it.”
According to government guidelines, both Arthur and the Skehans will have to self-isolate now for two weeks as they have travelled in from another country.
In classic Brian fashion he is remaining positive; “We have just done 12 weeks without seeing each other what’s another 2.”
The pair had already decided to make the movie permanently back to Ireland anyway;
“We planned on moving back here next year but with everything that is going on around the world, it made us realise that we want to be near our friends, we want to be near our family now more than ever.”
“It’s really exciting, yes, we are moving a year earlier than expected but it’s another new start for us,” he admitted.
“It’s another beginning. We are going to be living around the Kildare area. I’m looking at places.
“We’re going to go back to my mom’s and live there for a few weeks, get our bearings and find a place.”
