Brian Dowling has opened up about his future plans to adopt with his husband Arthur Gourounlian.
Speaking (virtually) with the Loose Women panel yesterday, Brian opened up about his wish to begin a family in the near future, with the Loose Women ladies noticing a baby crib in the background of his video call.
Asking him if he had an announcement to make, Brian said:
‘Yes we have some exciting news…,’ he joked, going on to say ‘no no. I’m in my nephew Harvey’s nursery,’

Brian then did go on to speak about the possibility of setting up a nursery in his own home, saying:
“Arthur and I will be married for five years in July,”
“It’s gone by so quickly and we are adamant that we want to start a family.”
“I’m forty-two, so I hope I have not left it too late.”
Admitting that the pair agreed that they don’t want to go down the surrogacy route, Brian says that for himself and Arthur, adoption seems to be the best option.
“One of us was pro-surrogacy and one of us was pro-adoption,” he said.
“We both agreed on adoption and that’s the one we are going to focus on together and see where it leads us.”
Brian went on to explain that the couple settled on the option of adoption partly due to Arthur’s difficult background.
‘Arthur is Armenian and he grew up and found it very very difficult being an immigrant and moving to Europe from Armenia,’ Brian said. ‘They struggled a lot.’
Continuing on he added, ‘Arthur’s feelings were “why pay so much money to make a baby when you can adopt so many that are out there looking for parents?”‘
