It’s been six years since Boyzone member Stephen Gately’s death, but its still an emotional subject for fellow Boyzone star Shane Lynch.
Earlier this week Shane took to Twitter to post a touching tribute to Stephen, after he saw a documentary about him on Channel 5.
Alongside a pic of the singer Shane wrote, “F**k man, i’ve not cried in years and bang! Watching @channel5_tv #mscm my brother Steo, miss ya boy love ya boy.”
Just last year Shane revealed details of the last night the band spent altogether to Fern Britton on BBC.
He said that they stayed in St. Lawrence O’Toole church in Dublin, with the body of Stephen Gately, the night before his funeral. The four men did this because they knew Stephen was afraid of the dark.
“We got our sleeping bags, the priest came in with some wine for us, and at about 12 o’clock at night we were starving hungry.
“We sat and ate and laughed and joked and just told amazing stories, about Steo. It was an amazing thing to do, a magical thing to do.
“We saw him off with joy and not sorrow,” he said.
