Boredom setting in? Five things to do with the kids this Easter midterm

As we’re settling into the second week of the Easter midterm break, kids are starting to get bored and finding something to keep them entertained isn’t the easiest task.

They’ve had enough tv and you’re struggling to come up with things for them to do, but fear not – we’ve got you covered.

Matilda

A treat for both children and adults alike, Matilda The Musical is taking place at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre until April 11th. With evening and matinee performances, you’re sure to find a showing to fit into your family’s manic schedule. The musical is suitable for children over 6 years of age, and ticket prices start at €25.

Wells House and Gardens

There’s a whole host of fun, family events taking place in Wells House and Gardens, in Gorey, Wexford this week. From build-a-bear workshops to falconry, there’s something to occupy even the fussiest of the children. Click here to check availability and pricing of specific workshops.

Turoe Pet Farm

Looking to get them out and about for a bit of fresh air? Why not take your youngsters to Turoe pet farm in Galway. At the farm, children can learn about their favourite animals and will even get the chance to feed and cuddle a few, too. The farm is open between 12pm-6pm, and there are a number of different family rates, depending on how many children you wish to bring along.

Tayto Park

A fun day out for parents and children, Tayto Park has it all. From rollercoasters to climbing walls, the cinema to the zoo, this place has it all. The park is open weekend from 10am-6pm.

Bake

With the weather being as bad as it is, the going outdoors might be the last thing on your mind. Why not spend some quality time with the youngsters – and use up some of the Easter Eggs too – while baking up a storm in the kitchen. From cupcakes to rice-crispy buns, there’s a whole host of quick and easy treats you can make. And to keep them entertained a little bit longer, why now allow them decorate their treats?
