Bono has made some controversial comments about battling ISIS terrorists, saying that he believes the best way to stop them is by sending Amy Schumer and Chris Rock in to make peace.
Yep, bizarrely, the U2 frontman claims that comedy could help defeat the jihadist militant group.
Speaking at a US Senate meeting on behalf of his One Campaign, Bono said, “It’s funny… Don’t laugh, but I think comedy should be deployed.
“Because if you look at National Socialism, and Dash and ISIL, this is the same thing, we’ve seen this before, we’ve seen these people before.
“They are very vain, they’ve got all the signs. It’s show business. And the first people that Adolf Hitler threw out of Germany were the Dadaists and the Surrealists.
“It’s like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But you laugh at them when they’re goose-stepping down the street and it takes away their power.
“So I’m suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer, Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen. Thank you.”
Trainwreck star Amy clearly has heard his comments, and took to Twitter to simply say, “Holy shit.” For some reason, we don’t think she’ll be jumping at this opportunity any time soon…
