Late Late Show Country Music Special

A statue is to unveiled of the late Big Tom McBride in his own Co.Monaghan, during a festival next month.

The country music legend passed away in April, and is being honoured with a larger than life statue which will be unveiled at the Castleblayney Celebrates Big Tom Festival.

On September 23rd at 3pm, the statue, sculpted by Mark Richards in the UK, will be revealed to the community.

Big Tom has been sadly missed by family, friends and country music fans alike since his sad passing, at the age of 81.

In a statement back in April, his family said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Big Tom McBride (RIP).

“Dad passed away peacefully in the company of his family.

“He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

“May he rest in peace.”

We’re looking forward to seeing the statue take pride of place in Big Tom’s hometown.
