The Dancing On Ice 2022 line-up has begun to be revealed, and nestled amongst the stars joining this year’s series is rugby star Ben Foden.
The winter series will kick off on our screens early next year, however, contestants will begin their grueling training now in preparation for taking to the ice. Confirmed to be taking part is 36-year-old Ben Foden, who will be joining a whole host of famous faces.
Others also confirmed to be putting on their skates include Love island star Liberty Poole, Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor, and Happy Mondays singer Bez.
Sharing both his nerves and excitement for his new challenge, Ben said:
“I used to skate a little when I was a kid. I’d go to ice discos when I was 15, 16 (years old) and you’d always see these kids that could do pirouettes that had a proper dancing background.”
“I like the idea of learning a new sport and a new skill. I’m quite competitive as well so I like the challenge of competing against others doing something that I’m not necessarily good at!”
Ben’s two older children, Aoife-Belle and Tadgh, who he shares with ex-wife Una Healy, will no doubt be supporting their dad all the way.
Back in 2019 Ben appeared on The X Factor: Celebrity, singing in a three-piece group named ‘Try Star’, with both Tadgh and Aoife-Belle regularly appearing in the audience cheering him on.
Dancing On Ice will air on ITV next January.
