Baz Ashmawy has revealed the brand new season of DIY SOS is officially underway.

The show went down a hit with viewers right across the nation as it aired on our screens last year, and following the incredibly positive reaction, it’s back for season two.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Baz and a team of volunteer builders, electricians, plumbers and designers to name a few, spend a number of days completely renovating the homes of very deserving people up and down the country.

As he prepared to return to work, Baz said, “I’m feeling good, I’m about to do one of our first days on DIY SOS.

“The actual builds aren’t happening for another six weeks which is ages away, it feels like ages away, but I just wanted to say thank you for last year because I know soon enough I’m going to come begging for people and materials and all of that jazz.

“Last year you guys were amazing and it would have been impossible to do it without you. So I wanted to say thanks for that and slightly butter you up because I will be coming right at you very soon.”

Baz previously revealed how the show has restored both his faith in humanity and his love for the Irish people.

“To do the right thing when it would have been so easy just not to feckin’ bother, I swear, it’s changed how I see our little country. It really has,” he said, paying particular attention to the volunteers.

“The empathy you had to come forward and make the difference. And the pride you all took in your work. Listen, You changed those families lives for ever. I don’t just mean in what you built or created but in the kindness you showed them.”

He added, “It’s been such a privelage for me to be around women and men like you. I’m just so proud to be Irish.”
