Barry Keoghan has gone from strength to strength in his acting career in a short number of years.
From Fair City and Love/Hate to star quickly landed roles in Hollywood in films like Dunkirk and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
Now, the actor has landed an incredible role as the lead in a new TV show.
Y: The Last Man is a highly acclaimed graphic novel which is being adapted for the screen.
The story revolves around Yorick Brown (played by Keoghan) — the last surviving human with a Y chromosome — and his Capuchin monkey, Ampersand.
The show will follow Yorick after as he sets out to find about a mysterious plague and what might have wiped out the male chromosome.
The Dubliner will star alongside Diane Lane, Imogen Poots and Lashana Lynch.
Keoghan tweeted earlier this week that he was “proud to bring this to the screen”.
