Harry Potter star Miriam Margoyles appeared on the Late Late Show last night, and in a bizzare turn of events ended up interviewing Ryan!
The British actress’ interview was laced with innuendo from the get-go, but things became inappropriate when she started interviewing the host.
The star turned to Ryan and quizzed him about his sexuality, asking, “Are you gay?”
Ryan was in great spirits and simply laughed off the remark, explaining she must have gotten him confused with the former host, Gay Byrne.
“I’ll tell you something,” said Ryan. “The guy who used to present this show about ten years ago was Gay. He was called Gay Byrne and that’s a very different Gay altogether.”
The actress then went on to ask him about his relationship status, asking a very nervous looking Ryan, “But you’re not married, right?”
The Late Late Show host agreed, saying he wasn’t married and suggested they moved the interview along.
A very awkward encounter indeed…
