Anne Doyle is known as an RTÉ reporting legend, but she has now revealed that she doesn’t miss reporting the news, particularly with the current circumstances of the pandemic.
After an incredible 33 years on air, Anne retired ten years ago.
Explaining how she doesn’t miss reporting, Anne is full of praise for those who have during the pandemic. Speaking to the Irish Sun, she revealed, “Not on a personal level no [I don’t miss it] but I absolutely applaud the work that has been done.
“And also social media, it’s kept us all up to date. All the newspapers kept us up to date. People really did go the extra mile. For myself, no. But I was very grateful for those who did work and are working tirelessly.”
Previously, Charlie Bird explained how he would have loved a reporting job during these times: “I wasn’t looking for a fancy job or someone else’s job. I didn’t want to be paid.”
Speaking of this, Anne shared, “That would be Charlie. Charlie would be a great man to want to hurl himself into the centre of something and good for him.
“He’s always had such huge energy and I would have different interests I suppose. But I’m grateful to be kept up to speed.”
