Anna Geary has thanked her followers for their support following the loss of her brother, Thomas, and said that baby Ronan has been “getting her through.”
The presenter’s brother passed away suddenly earlier this month following a short illness.
Anna took to Instagram this week to share photos of herself and baby Ronan, saying the newborn is helping her through her grief. The RTÉ star’s father also sadly passed away in March.
“There has been a lot of this in recent weeks! His hugs have been getting me through,” she wrote. “Never underestimate the power of a hug xxx.”

Anna also took to Instagram Stories to thank her followers for their kind messages during such a tough time, and to say that she is still “finding her way.”
“Thank you to each and every one of you that took the time to send such heartfelt and thoughtful messages during these past few weeks,” she wrote.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t reply back to everyone, but I want you to know that I did read them and I do really appreciate them.”
She went on: “Life is unpredictable! No one ever knows what’s around the corner. For now I’m trying to find my way on here. Bear with me x.”
The Ireland’s Fittest Family coach told VIP earlier this year that she was adoring motherhood, and that she was trying to not compare herself to other parents.
“We do compare ourselves and if we’re in a poor headspace it’s easy to let our brains default to negative,” she told us.
“Then it spirals. And can I just say that the worst piece of advice I’ve ever heard is: ‘sleep when the baby sleeps’. So, the baby falls asleep in the car on the way to an appointment, do I pull into the side of the road and sleep?!’
“I can’t sleep when the baby sleeps because all the jobs I need to get done need to get done when the baby is sleeping! It’s unhelpful advice. Don’t say that to a new mother!”
