Amy Huberman is one protective mum as she just revealed the length she went to in order to keep her children safe during covid.
Opening up on the Mamia & Me podcast, Amy revealed that she actually karate chopped a woman’s arm after she tried to catch a glimpse at her son Teddy when he was a newborn last January.
Amy told host Brona, “It’s weird. When Ted was only, like brand new, I remember being out with him in January, in the cold.”
“A little old lady came over to me, and she had a visor on, and we were outdoors.”
Sharing the hilarious but unfortunate story she said; “I arm chopped her. I karate chopped her. She was like, ‘Oh, you had a baby,’ and I saw the hand going in, in slow motion.”
“I was like, ‘I can’t…’ That was at a really bad time in the pandemic. ”
The arm chop happened last year when covid cases were very high, but nonetheless, Amy still had a lot of regrets about the incident; “And then I felt really sad because she goes, ‘Oh God, I’m sorry,’ and then she walked away. That still haunts me, and actually isn’t that the s*** part of all of this?”
“However, pandemic or no pandemic, it’s still weird when you have a newborn and strangers go, ‘Ahhh’, and reach in. That’s so weird,” she added.
While giving birth during a covid crisis, of course, led to a lot of worrying and incidents like this one, Amy did reveal so of the upsides to having a baby under these circumstances.
“I actually found this birthing experience easier because I got more rest because nobody was allowed to come in to see me. I had a great time. I watched the full series of Bridgerton.”
Teddy, who is now one, is Amy and husband Brian O’Driscoll third child together, already have a girl, Sadie, who is 8 and Billy who is 7.
