Amber Gill has broken her silence following split from Greg O’Shea last week.
The Irish sports star revealed they went their separate ways just weeks after winning the show, as work commitments were keeping them apart.
Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show, he said, “We’re mad about each other. I’m mad about her. But you need to be realistic about the situation.
“She lives in the UK and I decided to come back to Ireland and do my thing here. We’re both jam-packed busy. We’re just being realistic about the situations and protecting our careers.”
Following the split, Amber thanked her friends for being there during the difficult time – especially fellow Islander, Anna Vakili.
“This woman is the best friend I could ever wish for,” she began.
“She supports me 100 percent. She has made me feel so good over the past few days.”
Sharing a snap with her best pal, Amber continued, “The realest relationship to come out of the villa and that’s the truth. I love you so much.”
Amber and Greg aren’t the first couple to break up following their summer in the Love Island villa.
Chris and Harley called time on their relationship shortly after the series ended, as did Anton and Belle.
