Alexandra Burke and Darren Randolph are set to become parents yet again, as they await the arrival of their second child.
The couple welcomed their first child last year, and announced their second pregnancy in April.
Opening up about her journey with baby number two, The X Factor star admitted it was tough.
“I have to admit, this second pregnancy has been very challenging at times. First time around I was performing 8 shows a week up until 8 months and on a great high,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Alexandra explained how she “choose not to work and soak up the first 12 months” with their first bundle-of-joy, before their second child arrives.
“My goodness I give thanks to my body for allowing me this wonderful blessing that I never thought would happen,” she gushed.
“Becoming a mum is truly a blessing and is my greatest achievement. It’s not the easiest job in the world that’s for sure! The thought of coping with two babies under two I know will definitely keep me on my toes when the time comes but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

To the community of parents I’ve shared messages with on here – you have given me such wonderful advice and been so supportive – thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s so comforting to feel the understanding from other incredible mums & dads.”
The couple announced they were expecting in April, sharing the good news on social media with a picture of the pair beaming at one another while the Irish footballer cradles her blossoming baby bump.
“We are so excited to do this all again,” she captioned the picture.
The couple have chosen to keep their children out of the public eye, not revealing the name or sex of their first child.
Explaining their reasoning, Alexandra spoke on Loose Women about why it was important to them.
While answering the question she got emotional explaining: “I’ve never really spoken about this but obviously I come from X Factor and that’s a public show and I’m very grateful for the platform, it’s made me who I am today. I hate getting emotional talking about this but I asked for all this, my family never…”
Continuing after getting support from the hosts she finished: “The impact on them is hard. And I want to protect the baby as much as I can.”
Alexandra and Darren were first linked in May 2021, when it was reported that they had been on a number of dates.
At the time, a source revealed to The Sun that while they had been on dates, they were taking things slow. “It’s early days and Alexandra has deliberately taken things incredibly slowly.
“They’ve had a series of dates but not been able to meet up as much as they would have wanted due to her hectic work schedule and the Covid restrictions.”
The source continued, “Alexandra was extremely reluctant to date another footballer but Darren is the sweetest, most down-to-earth guy – and incredibly charming.”
Alexandra had recently split from Rotherham United defender Angus MacDonald.
“Things are going really well. They’re super-happy seeing each other,” the source concluded
