With so many gorgeous spots around Ireland to visit this summer, Alan Hughes and his husband Karl Broderick enjoyed a break in Athlone over the weekend.
The pair decided to have a mini staycation, checking out all the beautiful surrounds on their romantic getaway.
As well as dinner by the water and sunset drinks at the Wineport Lodge, the pair made the most of the good weather by visiting Bay Sports.
Sharing a clip of them flying down the inflatable slide, Alan said, “It’s one way to start the day..throw yourself into a lake!”

It’s been a week of fun and frolics for Alan, who also visited Tatyo Park with Brian Dowling for a segment on Ireland AM. As they got on the Cú Chulainn rollercoaster, hilarity ensued.
“It will certainly blow your worries away and possibly your weave. I am 100% not an adrenaline junkie so I’m 100% happy to keep my feet on that ground,” said Brian afterwards.
