Alan Hughes and Karl Broderick are celebrating their anniversary during a romantic trip to New York.
The happy couple, who first met almost three decades ago, had a civil ceremony in the Mansion House in 2011, before enjoying a private wedding with family in 2016.
Sharing a loved-up snap with his other half, Alan said, “I met this man 26 years ago we have been through so much he is my rock. Happy anniversary Karl, I love you.”
Marking the occasion, Karl also paid a touching tribute to his husband.
“Happy anniversary to the lovliest, funniest, hardest-working, most loyal and generous person I know,” he began. “I’m very blessed.”
While away, Karl suffered a painful injury in Central Park.
“Emergency room again,” Alan said alongside a picture of Karl in hospital. “Not the way we wanted to spend our second night in NY.
“Poor Karl had an accident trying to avoid a child on our cycling trip. Dislocated shoulder and fractured elbow.”
